The grave care market in Ukraine changed after 2022: some of the workers left, prices were revised and new services appeared. This article is about how much grave cleaning really costs in 2026 and what affects it.

A one-off visit: what makes up the price

Basic cleaning means weeding and trimming the grass, clearing leaves and litter, and wiping the monument. In Kyiv and Lviv this service costs from 800 UAH.

If you add washing the monument with pressurised water, that is another 500 UAH. With special products against lichen and mould — 800 UAH. Laying fresh flowers — 350–550 UAH depending on the type.

The price of a one-off visit without extra services:

Service Price
Basic cleaning800 UAH
Monument washing500 UAH
Washing with special products800 UAH
Fence painting700 UAH
Adding crushed stone900 UAH
Planting flowers550 UAH
Inscription restorationfrom 1,100 UAH

What the final price depends on

The city. In Kyiv and Lviv prices are higher than in Ternopil or Vinnytsia. The difference is 15–25%. Travel costs and workers' rates differ.

The condition of the plot. If the grave has not been tended for several years — the grass has grown over, moss has covered the monument, rust is eating the fence — the amount of work is significantly greater. The final price is worked out after an initial inspection.

The cemetery. Large cemeteries far from the city centre — Berkovetske and Lisove in Kyiv or Holoskivske in Lviv — are a little more expensive because of the travel time. The difference is usually 100–200 UAH per visit.

The season. April — before Thomas Sunday and Radonitsa — is the busiest month. At this time some workers operate on a queue basis and do not take urgent requests. Prices do not always rise formally, but the queue gets longer.

Subscription vs a one-off order — which is more worthwhile

A one-off visit for basic cleaning is 800 UAH. If you order 4 visits a year, that comes to 3,200 UAH a year. The "Basic" subscription costs 17,400 UAH a year for 3–4 cleanings — so one full care package per visit is more expensive, but it includes far more work.

Simple arithmetic: if you regularly order basic cleaning plus washing the monument, that is already 1,300 UAH per visit, or 5,200 UAH for 4 visits a year. The "Basic" subscription is cheaper and includes more work, plus a photo report after each one.

A subscription makes sense if you do not live near the cemetery, want a consistent result without placing a new order every time, and value peace of mind — knowing the grave is being cared for.

Competitors' prices

The market is uneven. Private contractors on OLX offer cleaning for 400–600 UAH — but usually with no photo report, no contract and no guarantees. If something goes wrong, there is no one to get your money back from.

Specialised services with a photo report and a verified worker start from 800 UAH. That is the price of reliability: you see before-and-after photos and know the work has been done.

What a photo report includes and why it matters

A photo report is not a marketing bonus but quality control. You receive "before" and "after" photos with geolocation and a date. You can compare every detail: whether the grass has been trimmed, whether the monument has been washed, whether the flowers are in place.

The "Standard" and "Premium" plans additionally include a 60-second video walk-around with a GPS tag. It is a direct equivalent of walking around it yourself and filming it on your phone.
